    Gotham

When the winds died down last night, at about 11 p.m., I drove down to Dumbo/Brooklyn Bridge Park with a few friends to see the blacked-out cityscape from across the river. The view was eerie and surreal—a bit like the mid-point of any apocalyptic movie ever set in New York.

Here are a few photos from our walk, all courtesy Yujin Yohe.

Looking north on East River below the Brooklyn Bridge. Manhattan Bridge, Empire State and Chrysler buildings in the distance.

    Downtown Manhattan.

Looking south at the Brooklyn Bridge, downtown Manhattan.

The Manhattan Bridge, lit up only on the Brooklyn side of the river.

Downtown Manhattan, with the city courthouse lit up from behind.
